No. In our experience, planning permission is not required. For complete peace of mind, we recommend you consult your local authority Planning Office for advice prior to fitting your canopy.
Most walls constructed from stone, brick or breeze-block are suitable to accept a door canopy. If in doubt on the type of wall you have, we recommend you consult a qualified tradesman.
Simple tools that most DIY’ers will already have − power drill, masonry bit, screw-driver, spanner, ladders, tape measure, spirit level. No flashing, joinery or masonry work is needed. The fitting instructions for each canopy tell you what tools are required.

Most of the assembly can be done by one person, as the components are light but tough. However, for fitting the canopy to the wall, when a ladder is required, we recommend two people.
Our advice is to allow 2-3 hours per canopy.
It comes in flat-pack format, in a protective cardboard box.
All our door canopies come with a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty against defective parts or workmanship. The warranty does not cover fair wear and tear, abuse or misuse, impact or wilful damage, or incorrect assembly or fitting.
